Students love the opportunity to get outside to learn about nature and compete in group activities that promote bonding and understanding.

We've had students from schools all across the county as well as home school groups come spend the day with us. At our Outpost (where you park) we have the following amenities: restrooms, showers/changing rooms, hammocks, swings, stage, picnic tables, propane grills (propane supplied), fridge, ice maker, water dispenser, microwave, coffee maker, sinks and more. Most groups grill a lunch or bring a picnic lunch to eat before heading back to school.

Here is a breakdown of the different packages & activities we offer:

Nature & Games: $10 per person
Students will have the opportunity to take part in the following:

  • Yard games (giant connect 4, giant jenga, giant tic tac toe, corn hole, ring toss, slack line)

  • Guided team building activities (hole tarp challenge, pipe builder challenge, kick ball, dodge ball & more)

  • Nature walk and/or scavenger hunt through woods

  • Talk about the Waccamaw River (water color, types of wildlife, types of trees, Waccamaw Indians)

  • Possible wildlife viewing of barred owls

Kayaking or Pontoon Boat Ride: $20 per person
In addition to the Nature & Games activities students will also have the opportunity to kayak or take a pontoon ride on the Waccamaw River. Chaperones and/or parents will be required to help supervise students while on the water. Groups of up to 30 students can be on the water kayaking at one time. Pontoon rides are limited to 6 people per trip.

Escape River Island: $30 per person
In addition to the Nature & Games activities and kayaking students will also have the opportunity to participate in our Escape River Island challenges. The students will be divided into groups (maximum of 30 students per group) and divided into teams to compete in the challenges. The challenges may be done in heats depending on the size of the group. This is the most popular activity for the students and is a great team building activity.

Tent Camping: no additional charge

Extend the field trip into an overnight experience to make even more lasting memories. Book one of our field trip experiences, bring your tents and your group is welcome to spend the night out in nature at one of our wooded campsites.
